Results Visualization

Once a search is launched, the ITSERR – uBIQUITY platform displays the results screen, which represents the operational core of the system. The interface is organized to allow fast, orderly, and comparative analysis of the identified texts.

The main structure of the page consists of:

• Top control bar
  • displays the executed query, the selected language, and the total number of results found;
  • contains buttons for sorting, flow creation or saving (Create Flow / Save Flow), and export.
    • If the flow has not yet been created, the “Create Flow” button is displayed.
    • If a flow already exists, the button is renamed to “Save Flow”.

• Central results area
  • lists all obtained results in tabular form;
  • each row represents a match between the searched term and the textual source;
  • results can be expanded to display the context (full sentence or paragraph).

• Optional side panel
  • displays additional information or dynamic filters to refine the search without returning to the initial screen.

Each result includes:

• the text excerpt in which the searched term appears;
• bibliographic references (author, work, section, verse, or chapter);
• when applicable, the similarity score, returned exclusively when the search is executed using the “Structures” Comparison Criteria;
• action icons for comparing, annotating, or saving the result.

Each displayed result can be subject to contextual actions, activated through icons or buttons associated with the individual row.

The main available actions are:

Icon	Function	Description
	Open detail / Search related	Executes a new search based on the selected fragment or the corresponding author.
	Add note	Allows creation of a personal note related to that result. From the note screen, it is also possible to add or edit a related bibliographic reference.
	Source	Opens a window displaying the source text from which the result was extracted.

Actions are saved immediately and, in the case of authenticated users, remain associated with their profile. Notes and references can be modified at any time through the side panel or the notes menu.

Once results are obtained, the user can sort and filter data in real time using the controls in the top bar or the dynamic side filters.

The most common sorting criteria include:

• alphabetical order by author;
• chronological order from the oldest to the most recent text;
• relevance or similarity score.

Dynamic filters allow reducing the number of displayed results without re-executing the search. For example, it is possible to display only:

• results belonging to a specific author;
• texts from a specific linguistic corpus;
• an ordering from the highest to the lowest similarity score value.

All applied filters are tracked and can be removed individually or all together using the “Reset” button.

After viewing and analyzing search results, the user can:

• save the search as a Flow;
• export the results in a standard format;
• annotate specific elements with notes and bibliographic references.

The save button assumes two distinct behaviors:

Create Flow

Displayed when the user saves the current search for the first time. The command creates a new Flow that includes:

• the original query;
• the applied filters;
• the active sorting;
• the list of displayed results.

Save Flow

Once the Flow has been created, the button automatically changes to “Save Flow”. This option allows saving changes made to the existing Flow without creating a new one.

Saved flows are stored in the user database and are accessible at any time from the Flows section.

The “Export” option allows downloading results in standard formats (e.g. .csv, .json, .xml, .pdf), preserving the tabular structure and metadata associated with the search.

Notes and any bibliographic references are saved persistently and remain associated with the original results. They are accessible and editable from every working session, ensuring traceability of the analysis process.

In the updated version of the platform, each result includes a quick action button bar visible directly within the results table, without the need to open the detail view.

Available buttons:

• Source details → opens a pop-up with the full textual context, including author, work, and corpus position;
• Add Note → allows creation or visualization of a personal note related to the selected passage.

Action bar characteristics:

• it automatically appears when hovering over the result row;
• icons remain active even after expanding the textual context;
• icon arrangement follows a constant order, corresponding to the three main available functions:

Search Related → Source → Add Note.

Operational advantages

This bar enables much faster interaction with results, allowing users to:

• launch related searches,
• immediately consult the source text,
• add or view annotations,

directly from the main results screen, without interrupting the workflow.
