Messaging workspace

Messaging enables direct, private communication between users.

Messaging is the direct, person-to-person communication space. Use it when the conversation should not be attached publicly to a project, event, or resource. The full-screen messaging workspace provides a thread list, active conversation area, and compose box so you can move from discovery into contact without leaving HORTUS.

Start a new conversation Use the new conversation launcher or the Message CTA from a profile. A new conversation window opens so you can choose a contact and send a first message. Open a thread Click an existing conversation in the thread list. The conversation becomes active in the main reading pane. Send a message Type in the compose area and send. The message is added to the thread and becomes part of the ongoing conversation.

Features

  • one-to-one conversations
  • persistent message history
  • integrated within the platform

When to use messaging

  • contacting an expert
  • following up on collaboration
  • clarifying details outside public discussions

Messaging replaces the need to leave HORTUS for basic communication.
