Metrics and impact indicators
HORTUS provides metrics to monitor activity.
Metrics is the dashboard-style overview area that reflects platform activity and counts after content is already in circulation. Use it to read visibility and platform-level uptake, not to edit content. The most productive use of Metrics is therefore reflective: after publishing and disseminating, look at activity patterns and decide whether your project, profile, metadata, or dissemination choices need to be improved.
- Use metrics after publication, not instead of good metadata and project structure.
- Read platform indicators as signals that complement, rather than replace, user-level evaluation and scholarly judgement.
- If visibility remains low, revisit the fundamentals first: metadata quality, project links, profile completeness, and dissemination routes.
